After your photoshoot
You will receive an email when your gallery is ready and a separate email with a unique password to access your gallery.
You will also have access to viewing other products I offer such as, prints, digital products, gifts and mounted print options. Mounted print options are on display in the studio for you to look at.
You can book a free viewing session with me if you would like to spend longer looking at products I offer. I’m happy to advise on sizing, photo fit and anything else you need help with.
FAQ
What is a Cake Smash?
Fun! A cake smash involves placing your baby with a cake whilst I take photos of them smashing the cake with their wooden spoon, eating the cake, covering themselves from head to toe in cake and giggling with a mouthful of cake! This is such a fun and memorable way to mark your baby’s milestone birthday! Images can be used to create invitations to their birthday party or to create thank you cards.
What do I need to bring for a Cake Smash?
- Outfits you would like your baby to wear. I have both boy and girl outfits for use but you are welcome to bring your own.
- Hairbrush and accessories.
- Cake – preferably no more than 8 inches with lots of frosting! Home made or shop bought is fine.
- Fruit if you have opted for a non-cake smash.
- Any personalised items you would like included in your photos.
- A change of clothes for baby.
- A change of clothes for adults and siblings who will be getting involved – please bring spare socks!
- Nappies.
- Baby wipes.
- Teething gel.
- Water or milk for baby and a snack.
What if my baby has allergies?
For this very reason I ask all clients to provide the cake themselves. I can recommend cake makers who cater for babies with allergies such as egg or dairy free. Contact me for more information.
If your baby cannot eat cake, we can use fruit or meringue instead!
If you have opted for a splash too and your baby has sensitive skin, please ensure you bring along your own bubble bath. I use Johnson’s bubble bath.
If your baby is allergic to latex please let me know as there will be balloons at the photoshoot.
What if my baby won’t cooperate?
The only reason a baby usually will not cooperate is if they are tired, hungry or teething. Firstly discuss with me a good time, a baby coming for a cake smash at their nap time is never a good idea. Ensure your baby has had at least a snack before they arrive, you can bring water or milk for them to sip to help the cake go down! It is a good idea to bring along teething gel too. As an experienced nursery practitioner, I’m an expert at winning over a baby and up to this point I have never had a baby not cooperate who is energised, full and ready to have fun!
Will parents get messy?
The answer is – most likely! Even I will get messy but it’s all part of the fun!
What should my baby wear?
I have a range of cake smash outfits but if you would like to bring your own outfit you are more than welcome. Please get in touch if you would specifically like to talk about my outfit options.
What if my baby is due a vaccination?
Vaccinations can cause your baby to feel unwell. Please book at least one week after your baby has been vaccinated.
